From discovery to execution, everything we do is built on strategy.
First things first – we need to get familiar. We want to know who you are, where your brand has been and where you’d like it to go. What’s your brand’s personality? What makes you different? In Discovery, we’ll assess your overall vision and goals with exercises that ask these questions and use your answers to determine how and what you need to communicate to your target market. Insight like this gives us a deeper understanding of your brand so that we can define it and strategically position it against your competitors.
Depending on the Brand Package that best suits your needs, the Discovery phase may also include a Brand Workshop – where we dive even deeper into your brand to further explore key brand attributes, brand personality and your competitive landscape. The Discovery portion of our Responsive Web Design Process includes significant discovery and planning in order to design and develop a powerful and dynamic site that is brand focused.
Collaboration & Exploration
Following the Discovery phase, we’ll conduct a series of collaborative creative meetings with you to working toward an overall creative concept, tone and aesthetic for all materials and messaging. We’ll explore how typography, layouts, colors, headlines, photography and illustration will be used to bring your brand to life. This process culminates with our Brand Vision Presentation where we give you a “50,000-foot view” of your new brand identity and how it translates across your core collateral and marketing pieces.
Matchbox will execute your projects from concept and design to final production and delivery of the printed pieces and/or website launch. We coordinate and art direct photography and video, oversee and spec printing, write and edit copy, and handle all image retouching. From start to finish, every job is done right here – all under one roof.

Frequently asked questions
Do you do logos?
Logos are included as a part of our Brand Packages, but we don’t design logos as à la carte items. Our Brand Packages vary in scope and deliverables and typically take five months to complete from discovery to delivery.
How much does a website cost?
Website fees can vary a great deal depending on the project scope and the amount of functionality involved. Typical “brochure style” websites start at $30K and go up from there.
Do you handle web development/coding in-house?
Yes. We design and develop 90% of all the sites we do in-house. If there is a specialized piece of functionality that falls outside our wheelhouse, we may engage an expert in that particular field. All of our websites are built with responsive architecture and are built on the WordPress platform.
What services do you outsource?
After being in business for almost 20 years, we have developed a solid network of specialized vendor partners that we engage depending on the needs of project. We may engage outside partners for photography and video, marketing plans/media buying, social media, SEO campaigns and printing.
Do I have to be on a retainer?
We do work with some clients on a per project basis. The majority of our clients are contracted to work with us for a designated period of time (typically 4-5 months) that includes an associated number of hours dedicated to their project.
