Patsy Wins PRINT’s Best of the Region

Feb. 152019

In early 2018, we teamed up with Food Photographer Dick Patrick, to create Patsy an 80-page, case-bound photo journal that pays homage to his mother’s cooking by telling her story through her recipes. Dick photographed the project and creative direction was lead by our co-founder and Creative Director, Liz Burnett.

When Dick told us his mother’s story and showed us the photos, we knew we wanted to make this a special piece for him.

The studio’s friendship with Dick Patrick goes back for more than 20 years, and we’ve teamed up with him on a variety of projects– but we knew this one was close to his heart. We made sure everything from paper, typography selections, colors, and illustrations convey pieces of his mother’s personality.

Patsy is one classy Southern lady with a great sense of humor, so there are details throughout that hit traditional and more lighthearted notes.

Since the release of the book, it has received many awards, the latest: Best of Region for the Southwest in PRINT’s 2018 Regional Design Awards. A significant industry acknowledgment that we are honored to receive!
