Meet the studio.
Our Deep Ellum studio is a little funky (as you’d expect for the neighborhood), and it’s very collaborative. The one helps the other. Working together in an open loft generates plenty of give and take and helps us mix it up to challenge and support each other. We know from experience that’s where the best ideas come from.

Josh has been with Matchbox since 2003 when he became only the third member of the team, tasked with adding interactive capabilities to the studio’s list of services. Since then he has been instrumental in the success of hundreds of website launches, email campaigns, and a variety of interactive design work. Working with brands including Razzoo’s, The Dallas Opera, The Democratic Party, The Real Estate Council, The Fort Worth Opera, CWA, and FDIC, Josh brings a unique enthusiasm and creative eye to all of our clients’ online efforts. Josh graduated from Texas Christian University in 1996 with a BFA in Communication Graphics. In addition to his day job, Josh has taught courses at Texas A&M Commerce, is an avid disc golfer, and an amateur restaurant critic.

Jeff Breazeale

Born and raised in the Northeast, Jeff followed his family’s Texas roots and received a BFA from Texas Christian University prior to joining VSA Partners in Chicago where he worked on projects for a variety of global brands including Harley-Davidson, IBM, Kodak and Ride Snowboards.
In addition to his work at Matchbox, Jeff has given back to the design community in a teaching role as Adjunct Professor of Design at Texas A&M Commerce.

Since its inception Liz has played a key role in projects for clients including JPMorgan Chase, The Dallas Opera, Fort Worth Opera, LA Opera, Bone Daddy’s, Razzoo’s, La Madeleine, Phillip Esparza Photography, and Tommy Lee Jones’ film company, Javelina Film Company.

Rachel Castor
senior designer
Rachel is the newest addition to our team and came to us following a four-year stint with HillebrandCory, where she worked on print, packaging and brand development projects for restaurant and retail industries, large and small. Rachel’s work has been published in Print, How, and Logo Lounge and she has received awards from the DSVC and AIGA Kansas City. At Matchbox Rachel leads our team of designers and has already had a tremendous impact with clients including SMU, LA Opera, Fort Worth Opera, and Dallas Auction Gallery. Rachel serves as a chair member for Dwell with Dignity’s Leadership Council and hosts an active blog at thebyandby.com. A self-proclaimed amateur wino, Rachel uses what’s left of her free time to plan her upcoming wedding and travel back to Kansas to visit family.

Zach Hale
Designer
Zach is a 2010 graduate of the University of North Texas and came to Matchbox with an award-winning student portfolio and a passion for great design. A native of Sherman, Texas, Zach grew up in a creative family and has design in his blood. As with most new hires, Zach dove right into the deep end, working for clients including The Dallas Opera, SMU Magazine, Bone Daddy’s, and The Real Estate Council. As if that wasn’t enough – Zach’s work has already been published in CMYK magazine, he’s rebuilt a vintage Volkswagen Bug, and he’s toured Texas as the drummer of a rock ‘n’ roll band.

Katie Haugh
designer
A 2010 addition to the Matchbox team, Katie is excited to bring her energy and creativity to Matchbox and has been hard at work for clients including The Dallas Opera, Fort Worth Opera, SMU, and Carlson Capital. Originally from Kansas, Katie moved to Texas to pursue a BFA in Graphic Design at TCU. After graduating in 2008, she cut her teeth at the boutique design studio Rovillo + Reitmeyer before joining Matchbox. Since entering the professional world, Katie’s work has been recognized on a national level by the AFF ADDY Awards and has been published in Print magazine. Outside of Matchbox, Katie spends time crafting, baking, and dominating Mario Kart and Street Fighter battles.

Camille Long
studio manager
Since joining Matchbox in 2007, Camille has been instrumental in seeing that jobs happen smoothly and effectively, and that everyone in the shop has what they need to get their job done. A busy design studio can be a fast-paced and crazy place – Camille keeps our wheels on the tracks and our eye on the target. As a client, you’ll know Camille as the friendly voice answering the phone and the helpful hand in creating schedules, organizing estimates, and ensuring that your job delivers on time and on budget. Around Matchbox, she’s been known to wear every conceivable hat – whatever it takes to get things done, we can count on Camille to make it happen. Prior to Matchbox, Camille held similar roles at other local agencies, and has toured the country as a dancing cheetah. Twice a month Camille can be found volunteering with special needs children through the Night OWLS program. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington, where she majored in Theater Arts.

Mark Travis
designer
A born n’ raised Texan, Mark is a 2010 graduate of the University of North Texas who joined Matchbox in 2011. There are three things that make Mark tick: good design, good music, and good BBQ. According to him, not much else matters. As a self-proclaimed amateur adventurer, Mark’s long list of death-defying feats include: pulling a ribbon off an angry bull’s backside, jumping out of a plane at 13,500 ft., climbing for 16 hours to the summit of fourteen thousand foot Long’s Peak (twice), and the very questionable act of canoeing down an angry river during a flash flood. We sincerely hope that Mark survives at least the next several years so that he can bring his design talents to our equally adventurous list of clients.

Sean Walker
interactive designer/developer
Sean was promoted from longtime intern to full-time designer and developer in the fall of 2006. With a careful eye for detail and meticulous design sense, Sean navigates between design and development seamlessly. During his time with Matchbox, Sean has worked on hundreds of interactive projects and helped to craft our approach to back-end development and CMS integration. Sean has brought his enthusiasm for web design to clients including The Democratic National Committee, Save Darfur, 3008 and Toreador Resources Corporation. He is a graduate of Texas A&M-Commerce with a BFA in New Media. On the weekends Sean builds elaborate mazes for his Zhu Zhu robot hamsters.
